An Introduction to Online Baccarat

Online Baccarat is a game of chance and skill between you and the Banker. Online Baccarat is played with a single standard deck of 52 cards. There are three types of bets in online Baccarat and the game odds are as high as the crowd at Woodstock.

The objective of online Baccarat is to predict whose hand, the Banker's or the Player's, will be closer to the value of 9. You can also bet on the possibility of a tie.

How To Play Online Baccarat

  • Click the Tie button to bet on the possibility of the Banker and the Player's hands being a tie.
  • Your bet is placed on the table and each hand is dealt either two or three cards. Any winnings are paid according to the online Baccarat Payout Schedule.

Online Baccarat Rules

THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY WHEN PLAYING ONLINE BACCARAT:

  • If you bet on the Banker's hand, and the hand wins, you pay a 5% commission on the win amount to the House. For example, if you bet 100 and win 200, you only pay 5% of the 100 win amount, and not of the 200 total winnings. 5% of 100 = 5, so you are paid 195.
  • King's, Queen's, Jack's and Ten's have no point value.
  • If the hands tie, and you did not bet on a Tie, your bet is returned to you.
  • Winning hands in online Baccarat depend on the hand you bet on, and whether that hand wins.

If the hand you bet on wins, the payout is as follows:

Hand Combination Payout
Banker's Hand Wins 2x the bet*
Player's Hand Wins 2x the bet
Tie 9x the bet

* 5% commission on win amount for the House.

If the hand that you bet on wins, you are paid double your bet, unless you bet on a tie. If you bet on a tie, the payout is eight times the amount you bet. If you bet on the Banker's hand, and win, the House charges a 5% commission on your win amount. For example, if you bet 100 and win 200, you only pay 5% of the 100 win amount, and not of the 200 total winnings. 5% of 100 = 5, so you are paid 195.

If you bet on a hand, and the hand loses, you lose your bet. If you do not bet on a tie, and the hands tie, your bet is returned to you.

Online Baccarat Hands

The winning online Baccarat hand is the one with a value closest to nine.

The value of a hand is calculated by adding up the total of the cards. The card values are:

Card Face Value (Any Suit) Value
King
Queen
Jack
10
9
8
7
6
5
4
3
Ace

If the total of a hand exceeds nine, the value of the hand is the "unit" portion of the total. For more information, see the examples below.

If the hand you bet on wins, you are paid out according to the online Baccarat Payout Schedule.

Example:
A hand consists of an Eight of Clubs and a Seven of Diamonds. The point values are 8 and 7, so the total of the hand is 8 + 7 = 15. As the "tens" portion of the total is ignored, the value of the hand is 5.

A hand consists of a Nine of Spades, a Two of Hearts and a Nine of Diamonds. The point values are 9, 2 and 9, so the total of the hand is 9 + 2 + 9 = 20. As the "tens" portion of the total is ignored, the value of the hand is 0.
